Okay, Pokémon fans, let's talk Joltik. That tiny, adorable, clingy Electric/Bug type. We all love it, right? But when does the little bugger actually evolve?

I'm willing to bet a Rare Candy that half of you are scratching your heads. It's not like Joltik is the star of every team. He's more of a "oh, right, I caught that" kind of Pokémon.

The answer? He evolves into Galvantula at level 36. Thirty-six! Feels kinda random, doesn't it? Not a prime number, not divisible by five... just... 36.

Now, here's where my hot take comes in. Are you ready? I think Joltik should evolve earlier. Way earlier.

First of all, Joltik is WEAK. Like, seriously weak. It clings to Pokémon to steal their electricity. It's adorable, sure, but not exactly intimidating in a battle.

Trying to grind Joltik up to level 36 can feel like pulling teeth. You're dodging wild encounters, swapping him out constantly, and feeding him every berry you can find. It's exhausting!

Imagine this: Joltik evolves at, say, level 28. Or even… dare I say it… level 25! Suddenly, you have a usable Electric-type a little earlier in the game. You can actually enjoy using Galvantula without feeling like you’ve spent the last week training a particularly stubborn Caterpie.

Plus, think about the lore! Joltik clings to bigger Pokémon to survive. Wouldn't it make sense for it to evolve sooner after clinging to, say, a certain number of strong opponents? Or after absorbing a certain amount of electricity? The game could have a hidden mechanic!

I can just see it now: A little meter fills up as Joltik battles. Once it hits a certain point, BAM! Evolution time. It would add a fun little challenge to raising the tiny spider.

Okay, okay, I'm dreaming. But seriously, level 36 feels unnecessarily late. Especially when you consider other Pokémon that evolve much earlier and are arguably more powerful.

And let's be honest, Galvantula isn't exactly tearing up the competitive scene. A slightly earlier evolution isn't going to break the game.

"But what about game balance?"

I hear you cry. Look, I get it. Game balance is important. But sometimes, I think we prioritize balance over fun. And grinding Joltik to level 36 is… not fun.

Maybe I'm just impatient. Maybe I have a soft spot for underdogs. Or maybe, just maybe, I'm right. Joltik deserves a slightly easier path to becoming the awesome Galvantula we all know and love.
