What Doesn't Kill You Mutates And Tries Again

Hey friend! Ever hear that saying, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger?" Yeah, well, I’ve got news for you. It's kind of a nice sentiment, but realistically? What doesn't kill you mostly just… mutates and tries again. Seriously. Think about it.

I'm not trying to bum you out, I promise! Just prepping you for the reality of life, which, let's be honest, can be a bit of a relentless zombie sometimes. A zombie that's constantly evolving. (Okay, maybe I am trying to bum you out a little. Just kidding! Mostly.)

The Germs Are Revolting! (Literally.)

Let’s take the classic example: germs. You get sick, your body fights it off, you win! Woohoo! Except… those germs? They're not exactly taking the loss gracefully. The survivors are like, "Right, we need a new strategy. This immune system is serious business." And so, they mutate.

They become resistant to the antibiotics that used to wipe them out. They develop new ways to invade your cells. They basically enroll in germ warfare school, funded by your suffering. It’s like a tiny, microscopic version of a revenge movie. Only, instead of Liam Neeson, it’s a particularly nasty strain of flu.

And don’t even get me started on superbugs! Those are the villains of the bacterial world. They laugh in the face of hand sanitizer. They’re practically wearing tiny little capes and twirling their metaphorical mustaches. Resist them at all costs! (And wash your hands, please.)

Life's Little Annoyances (They Adapt Too!)

But it’s not just germs. Think about those annoying habits you’re trying to break. You try to quit biting your nails, and suddenly you find yourself compulsively cleaning under them instead. You swear off sugary drinks, and then you’re craving salty snacks like it's your job. Your brain is like, "Okay, fine, no sugar. But what about… potato chips?"

It's the same principle. The urge, the habit, the thing you're trying to get rid of doesn't just vanish. It morphs. It finds a workaround. It comes back in a different, sometimes even sneakier form. The little rascal.

Even weeds in your garden do this! You pull them out, and they come back stronger, faster, and with roots that go all the way to China. (Okay, maybe not China. But deep, okay?) It's a constant battle against nature’s relentless desire to, well, take over.

Why This Isn't All Bad News
