Skyrim Npc Not Wearing Armor

Skyrim Npc Not Wearing Armor

Let's talk about something. Something that bothers me in Skyrim. Something maybe...controversial.

NPCs not wearing armor. Yes, I said it.

The Great Unarmored Conspiracy

Seriously, who decided this was okay? I'm storming through dragon-infested lands. I'm literally the Dragonborn.

And I'm surrounded by people in, like, tunics. Or worse, nothing at all (looking at you, random farmers).

It's a safety hazard! Think of the wolves!

Guard Duty: A Fashion Disaster

Okay, the guards mostly get a pass. They have armor. Usually.

But even then, it's like they drew straws. "Who gets the helmet today? Oh, nobody? Great."

And what's with the open-faced helmets anyway? A well-placed arrow and it's curtains!

The Innkeeper's Questionable Choices

Let's move on to innkeepers. Bless their souls, they offer us mead and a warm bed.

But are they prepared for a bandit raid? Absolutely not. They're wearing aprons.

An apron versus a bandit with a rusty sword? I know who I'm betting on. And it's not the apron.

Mages: Glass Cannons, Literally

Mages, I get it. You're channeling powerful magic.

But a little protection couldn't hurt, right? A light leather jerkin perhaps?

Instead, they're rocking robes that offer about as much defense as a wet paper bag. One swipe from a draugr and it's game over.

The Common Folk: Dangerously Underdressed

Then there are the regular citizens. The farmers, the merchants, the woodcutters.

These are the people who actually make Skyrim run. And they're completely vulnerable!

I'm not saying everyone needs full plate armor. But maybe a sturdy vest? A helmet?

My Unpopular Opinion (Maybe?)

Look, I know it's a video game. I know there are balance issues to consider.

But the lack of armor on so many NPCs just feels... irresponsible. Like the province has a severe safety code violation.

Is it just me? Am I the only one who's concerned about the fashion choices (or lack thereof) of Skyrim's inhabitants?

I picture myself giving a province-wide pep talk. "People of Skyrim! Please, for the love of Talos, put on some armor!"

Maybe a mod exists that fixes this. I should probably look into that.

Imagine Skyrim, but everyone's just a little bit safer. A little bit more prepared.

Bandits would think twice before attacking a town full of people sporting steel gauntlets. Dragons would be less likely to roast an unarmored farmer.

It's About Immersion!

For me, it's all about immersion. I want to feel like Skyrim is a real place.

And in a real place, people generally try to avoid being stabbed. Armor helps with that.

So, next time you're wandering through Skyrim, take a look around. Notice the alarming lack of protective gear.

And maybe, just maybe, you'll start to feel the same way I do. Maybe you'll join the cause. The cause of... proper NPC attire.

Think about it. A Skyrim where everyone's just a little bit safer. A little bit more prepared.

The thought alone brings a tear to my eye. A single, armor-plated tear, of course.

A Call to Arms (Figuratively)

This isn't a rant, I promise! It's more of a plea. A humorous observation.

Let's start a movement. #ArmorForSkyrim. Okay, maybe not. But you get the idea.

The next time you play, just appreciate the absurdity of it all. The absurdity of walking past a woodcutter cheerfully chopping wood in his underpants while dragons circle overhead.

It's quintessential Skyrim. And maybe, that's why we love it.

Even if it does make absolutely no sense.

So, go forth, Dragonborn! Slay dragons! Save the world! And maybe, just maybe, convince a few NPCs to invest in some decent armor along the way.
