Reaper Cloth Pokemon Sword

Okay, let's talk about something potentially controversial. Something involving ghost types. And fabric.
Specifically, the Reaper Cloth in Pokemon Sword. I have some THOUGHTS.
Reaper Cloth: The Accessory No One Asked For?
Honestly, is anyone truly excited about this item? It’s needed for evolution, sure.
Must Read
But does it spark joy? Does it make you squeal with delight like finding a Shiny?
Dusknoir: Cool, but…
Okay, Dusknoir is pretty cool. A one-eyed ghost thing with a gaping maw for a stomach? Spooky points achieved.
It evolves from Dusclops, which requires this dreaded Reaper Cloth.
Getting it can feel like a chore, though, right? Not exactly an epic quest.
The Trading Game: A Necessary Evil
The real kicker? You need to trade your Dusclops while it's holding the Reaper Cloth.

This means relying on the kindness (or at least, the competence) of a stranger. Anxiety intensifies!
Is your trading partner going to steal your precious Pokemon? Are they even going to trade back? The possibilities are endless... and terrifying.
Friendship Bracelets are Easier
I mean, evolving Pokemon with high friendship is easier! Just shower them with curry and attention.
It's like giving a digital pet a spa day. Much less stressful than trusting random internet people.
Give me friendship evolution over trade evolutions any day!
Reaper Cloth: An Unpopular Opinion?
Maybe I'm alone in this. Maybe everyone LOVES hunting down the Reaper Cloth and coordinating trades.

But I suspect I'm not. Deep down, a little part of you understands. The frustration, the mild inconvenience...
It all adds up to a collectively groaned "Ugh, the Reaper Cloth again?"
Location, Location, Location!
Finding the darn thing isn't always straightforward, either. It can be hidden away in some obscure corner of the map.
Requires scouring the internet and watching endless videos explaining it's precise hiding spot. Time consuming!
Plus, remembering where it is each playthrough? Forget about it!

Is Dusknoir Worth It?
Don't get me wrong, Dusknoir is a solid Pokemon. Its defense stat is absolutely bonkers.
It's a wall that shrugs off physical attacks like they're nothing. A true tank!
But is that wall worth the effort of the Reaper Cloth? Debatable.
Ghostly Alternatives
There are so many other awesome ghost types in Pokemon Sword! Gengar, Dragapult, even Mimikyu.
These amazing creatures are easier to acquire, or simply don’t require trading.
Maybe I'll just stick with a team of spooky cuties who don't demand I jump through hoops!

The Verdict: It's Fine, I Guess
Ultimately, the Reaper Cloth is just a means to an end. A tool to evolve a Pokemon.
It's not inherently evil. It's just… a little annoying. A minor speed bump on the road to Pokemon mastery.
So, I'll grab it. Trade my Dusclops. And add Dusknoir to my team. But I won't enjoy it. And that's okay.
Embrace the Grind
Maybe it is about the journey, not the destination. Even if that journey involves tedious item hunts and nerve-wracking trades.
Maybe one day I will learn to appreciate the Reaper Cloth for what it is: a symbol of perseverance.
But probably not. Give me a Fire Stone any day!
