Nintendo 3ds Pokemon Games

Okay, let's be honest. The Nintendo 3DS era for Pokemon was... something special. I'm just gonna say it: I think it peaked with the 3DS games. There, I said it!

The 3D Magic

Remember when we first booted up Pokemon X and Y? The world EXPLODED with color. Finally, Pokemon in (mostly) 3D!

Sure, it wasn't perfect. Frame rate dips? More common than Pidgeys in Viridian Forest. But, the charm was undeniable.

Kalos: Fashion and France

X and Y gave us Kalos. Paris, but with Pokemon battles! Who wouldn't want that?

And the fashion? Oh, the fashion. Finally, we could make our trainers look somewhat stylish. No more just accepting whatever outfit the game threw at us!

I spent way too much time customizing my character. My friends judged me. But hey, at least I looked good while losing to the Elite Four!

Hoenn Again!

Then came Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. A return to Hoenn? Yes, please!

These remakes were gorgeous. Seriously, Kyogre looked so majestic rising from the ocean. I almost felt bad for battling him.

Secret Bases? Even better than I remembered. Nothing like decorating your little hideaway with Pokemon dolls. A true sign of maturity, I tell you.

Sun and Moon: Aloha, Pokemon!

Sun and Moon brought us to the sunny Alola region. A tropical vacation with Pokemon? Sign me up!

These games tried new things. Z-Moves? Interesting, if a little over-the-top. Trial Captains instead of Gym Leaders? A refreshing change.

But honestly, they felt... different. Maybe a little too different for some old-school fans. Though, that Lillie cutscene still gets me every time.

Ultra Adventures

Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon arrived. More Alola! More Z-Moves!

Ultra Necrozma was... something. A truly intimidating final boss. Did anyone else feel like they were fighting an Eldritch abomination more than a Pokemon?

These were great additions, but honestly, the originals were just chef's kiss. Just my opinion!

Why the 3DS Games Reign Supreme (Maybe)

So, why do I think the 3DS Pokemon games are so good? Well, for starters, they hit a sweet spot. They improved on the older games without going overboard.

The 3D was a game-changer (literally). The stories were engaging. The Pokemon were... well, Pokemon are always awesome.

Maybe it's nostalgia. Maybe it's the rose-tinted glasses. But, something about those games just clicked with me.

And don't even get me STARTED on Pokemon Bank. Transferring all my precious Pokemon from the older games? A dream come true.

The sheer convenience! No more relying on trading with friends who may or may not have the version-exclusive you needed.

Okay, okay, newer games have their merits. The Switch games are beautiful. But the 3DS era? That was a special time.

It felt like Pokemon had finally truly evolved into what we always imagined it could be. Bold claim? Maybe. But I stand by it.

Don't get me wrong, Dynamaxing is cool and all. But something about Mega Evolution was just… chef's kiss. Adding that extra layer of strategy and power!

And the designs? Mega Gardevoir? Mega Charizard Y? Come on, those are iconic!

Plus, the online features felt more connected. Wonder Trade was a chaotic, beautiful mess. What would you get? A legendary? A Wurmple? The suspense!

I know, I know, my opinion might be controversial. But come on, admit it. You have fond memories of those 3DS Pokemon games too.

They were a simpler time. A time of exploration, discovery, and the endless quest to "catch 'em all." A quest that, let's be honest, we're still on to this day.

So, next time you're looking for a Pokemon fix, dust off that old 3DS. Give X and Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, or Sun and Moon another spin. You might just remember why you fell in love with Pokemon in the first place.

And hey, maybe you'll even agree with my "unpopular" opinion. Or, you can yell at me in the comments. Either way, happy battling!
