Mr Furley Three's Company

Mr Furley Three's Company

Okay, so picture this: sunny California, bell bottoms galore, and the ever-watchful, slightly-too-tightly-dressed, Mr. Furley. You know, from Three's Company? The landlord we all secretly kinda loved (and maybe cringed at just a little bit).

Seriously, where do we even begin with Mr. Furley? He was like, the king of awkward entrances and misunderstandings. Remember when he thought Jack was, well, you know...gay? Oh, the hilarity! It was the '70s, people! Times were different (or were they just more willing to make jokes?).

His real name was Bart Furley, by the way! Bet you didn't remember that! Or maybe you did...you super-fan, you!

Fashion Icon (Sort Of)

Let's talk fashion, shall we? Mr. Furley's wardrobe. Oh. My. Goodness. Those shirts! Those bold patterns! The belts pulled way too high! It was a statement, alright. A statement that screamed, "I'm your landlord and I'm slightly out of touch!"

But you gotta admit, he committed. He owned those outfits. He wore them with a confidence that bordering on delusion...but hey, that's part of the charm, right?

And the hair? That perfectly coiffed 'do? You just knew he spent hours on it every morning. Did he use an entire can of hairspray? Probably.

The Master of Misunderstanding

The core of Three's Company? Misunderstandings! And who thrived on them more than Mr. Furley? The man could turn a simple conversation into a full-blown crisis with just one raised eyebrow and a well-timed "Well, I never!"

Think about it. Jack pretends to be gay to keep the apartment. Mr. Furley totally buys it and then, of course, jumps to all sorts of crazy conclusions. It was a recipe for comedic gold, I tell ya!

And his reactions! Priceless! Joyce DeWitt and Suzanne Somers (Chrissy and Janet) were brilliant at playing off of him. They’d bat their eyelashes, say something vaguely suggestive, and watch Mr. Furley lose his mind.

Was it predictable? Sure. Was it hilarious every single time? Absolutely!

More Than Just a Landlord

Okay, so he was a little clueless, a little flamboyant, and maybe a little bit too invested in his tenants' lives. But deep down, Mr. Furley had a good heart. I mean, he put up with a lot from Jack, Janet, and Chrissy.

He was always there to offer (usually misguided) advice, lend a (slightly creepy) helping hand, and provide a steady stream of comic relief. He was like that quirky uncle you only see at holidays...the one who tells inappropriate jokes but you still kinda like anyway.

Let's be real, Three's Company wouldn't have been the same without him. John Ritter (Jack Tripper) was the star, obviously, but Mr. Furley? He was the glue that held the whole wacky apartment complex together... or at least, tried to.

Since we are doing 80s shows. How about Mr. Furley From Three's Company

Without him, we wouldn’t have had the awkward parties, the accidental innuendos, and the sheer, unadulterated joy of watching a grown man completely misunderstand the simplest situations.

So, the next time you're flipping through channels and stumble upon a rerun of Three's Company, take a moment to appreciate Mr. Furley. Appreciate the bad fashion, the over-the-top reactions, and the unwavering commitment to being the most unintentionally hilarious landlord on television. He may not have been the sharpest tool in the shed, but he was definitely one of the funniest.

Seriously, how many landlords do you know who would accidentally walk in on Jack in drag and then faint? Yeah, exactly. Mr. Furley was one of a kind.
