Momo Yaoyorozu Hero Costume

Okay, so we HAVE to talk about Momo Yaoyorozu's hero costume. I mean, seriously. It's...uh... memorable, right?
Let's be real, the girl is brilliant. She's got that Creation Quirk which is basically magic. She can pull anything out of thin air (or, more accurately, her skin). Need a cannon? Boom. A grappling hook? You got it. A detailed instruction manual on advanced astrophysics? Probably. But, like, why does she need so much skin showing to make it work?!
The Costume: A Necessary Evil?
Must Read
The explanation we get is that her Quirk requires her skin to be exposed so she can, you know, create things. "Lipid molecules" and all that jazz. Fine, I get it. But couldn't they have, like, found a slightly less revealing way to make it work? Maybe some strategically placed cutouts? Or, I don't know, some advanced material that reacts to her Quirk without requiring her to basically be in a swimsuit?
It’s kinda awkward, right? Especially considering the series is aimed at a younger audience. I mean, I love My Hero Academia (who doesn't?), but it's hard to ignore the, shall we say, fanservice-y aspects of some of the female characters' costumes. And Momo's definitely up there.

Practicality vs. Fan Service
Let's think about the practicality for a second. Imagine fighting villains in that outfit. Any villain with a remotely perverted mind is gonna have a field day! And what about the cold? Or, like, basic hygiene? Is she constantly slathering herself in sunscreen? So many questions!
Don’t get me wrong, Momo rocks it. She’s confident, intelligent, and incredibly powerful. It’s just… does she really need to be practically naked to showcase her abilities? I think not. She's a leader, a strategist, a total powerhouse. Her intelligence and abilities should be the focus, not… well, you know.

Think about it: a slightly more covered-up, practical costume could even enhance her effectiveness! Stealth? Combat in different climates? Reduced risk of wardrobe malfunctions mid-battle? All wins in my book!
Fan Theories and Headcanons
Of course, the internet is full of theories and explanations. Some people suggest she can consciously control which parts of her skin are needed, so she chooses the bare minimum. Others argue that it's a mental thing, that she feels more powerful and connected to her Quirk when she's more exposed. Hey, maybe it’s a confidence boost thing? You do you, Momo!

But still... wouldn't it be awesome if she got a costume upgrade that was both functional AND stylish? Imagine her in a sleek, high-tech suit with responsive panels that open only when she needs to create something. Think Iron Man, but with lipid molecules! The possibilities are endless!
The Bigger Picture
Ultimately, Momo's costume is part of a larger discussion about the representation of female characters in anime and manga. Are these designs empowering, or are they simply pandering to a specific audience? Is it possible to have strong, capable female characters without relying on tired tropes and over-sexualized designs?

I'm not saying that all revealing costumes are inherently bad. It’s a complex issue with no easy answers. But it’s important to ask these questions and to consider the messages that these designs send, especially to younger viewers.
So, what do you think? Am I overreacting? Is Momo's costume just a harmless design choice? Or is it part of a larger problem? Let's chat in the comments! I want to hear your thoughts! After all, it's just fun to speculate, isn't it?
And hey, regardless of the costume, Momo's still a total badass. Let’s not forget that! Go Momo!
