Marvel Legends Series Retro Spider-man Rhino Action Figure

Okay, let's talk about the Marvel Legends Retro Spider-Man Rhino. I know, I know, everyone loves a good Rhino figure. But bear with me; I might have a slightly...controversial opinion.
First off, he’s big. Like, REALLY big. He takes up a ton of shelf space. My other figures are starting to complain about the lack of elbow room.
And let’s be honest, his articulation isn't the greatest, is it? He looks impressive. Getting him into dynamic poses? Not always easy.
Must Read
The Horn Dilemma
Now, the horn. It's iconic, absolutely. But it’s also a hazard. I've nearly poked my eye out a dozen times trying to adjust him.
Plus, it feels a little...fragile? I'm constantly worried it's going to snap off. He wouldn't be much of a Rhino without his horn, would he?
Imagine trying to explain to your kids, "Yeah, I accidentally broke the Rhino's horn. With my face." Awkward.
The Suit: Is it Really Retro?
They call it "Retro Spider-Man Rhino." I get it. It's based on older comic appearances. But does it really scream "retro"?
To me, it just looks like...Rhino. A slightly less detailed Rhino, maybe. But still, Rhino.

Perhaps my retro radar is broken. Or maybe I just have different expectations. What do you think?
The "Fun" Factor
Don't get me wrong. He looks intimidating. But is he actually fun to play with? That's where I'm a little unsure.
My Spider-Man figure can swing around and shoot webs. My Doctor Octopus has tentacles. The Rhino? He...stands there. Menacingly.
Maybe that's the point. But sometimes, I want more than just menacing. I want action!
Articulation Woes (Again)
We need to revisit the articulation issue. It’s a sore spot for me. Especially at this price point.
Getting him to look natural in anything other than a straight-on charge is a challenge. He ends up looking stiff. Like he needs a chiropractor.

It's a shame, because the sculpt itself is fantastic. He just can't move the way I want him to.
The Price Tag
Let's not forget the price tag. These Marvel Legends figures aren't cheap. And Rhino? He's one of the pricier ones.
Is he worth the money? That's the million-dollar question. For some, definitely. For me? I'm still on the fence.
I could have bought, like, five other less bulky figures for the same price. Just saying.
Other Villains Exist, You Know!
Here’s another thought. There are so many other Spider-Man villains that deserve the Marvel Legends treatment. And, some that deserve to be made BEFORE this Rhino.

Seriously, where's my fully articulated Molten Man? Or a proper Hobgoblin with glider? I would buy those in a heartbeat.
Maybe I'm just greedy. But I want more variety! More obscure villains! Give the Rhino a break.
Display Issues: He's a Bully!
Putting him on display can be a real challenge. He tends to dominate the entire shelf. He’s a shelf bully!
He pushes other figures aside. He hogs the light. My poor Spider-Man is constantly hiding behind him.
It’s a constant battle for display supremacy. And Rhino usually wins.
Unpopular Opinion Time
Okay, here it is: I think the Marvel Legends Retro Spider-Man Rhino is slightly overrated. Gasp!

I'm not saying he's a bad figure. He looks cool. He's imposing. But for me, the articulation issues and the sheer size outweigh the positives.
He's a beast of a figure, but he doesn't quite capture the joy I get from other Legends. Judge me if you will.
The Final Verdict (Maybe)
Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. Some people absolutely adore this figure. And that's perfectly fine!
Maybe I'm just being nitpicky. Maybe I need to spend more time trying to pose him. Maybe he’ll win me over eventually.
But for now, he remains a slightly frustrating, albeit impressive, addition to my collection. He’s like that loud, imposing, but ultimately harmless, relative at family gatherings.
So, tell me, am I completely wrong? Or does anyone else share my slightly unpopular Rhino opinion?
