Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Captain Rex

Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Captain Rex

Okay, let's talk Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. We all love it, right? Hours of brick-smashing, lightsaber-swinging fun. But... there's something I need to get off my chest.

It's about Captain Rex. Specifically, his treatment in the game.

Now, before you grab your pitchforks, hear me out. This might be a bit of an unpopular opinion.

Rex: The Clone We Deserve?

Don't get me wrong. I adore Rex. He's a legendary clone trooper, fiercely loyal and skilled. He's basically the coolest clone this side of Kamino.

But does the game really do him justice? I'm not so sure.

The Problem with Rex in the Game

Firstly, finding him is a mission! He's not just hanging out in Mos Eisley Cantina. You have to put in the work.

Then, once you unlock him... well, he's just another clone trooper. He has his blasters and maybe a special ability.

But compared to some of the other characters? He just feels... basic. I expected more flash. More pizzazz. More Rex-ness.

Think about it. We get Jedi flipping through the air. We get Sith shooting lightning. Rex gets...blaster fire. It's a bit underwhelming.

Where's the Special Sauce?

He's a leader. A tactician. A survivor. Where is all this in the gameplay? Where's the commanding presence?

I wanted special Rex commands. Maybe ordering other clones to attack or provide cover. Something that reflected his leadership skills!

Instead, he just blends into the background. Sad trooper noises.

And the costume! It’s fine. But is it iconic enough? Could it have used a bit more Lego flair? Absolutely!

My Wishlist for Rex

Imagine if Rex had unique dialogue options. Sarcastic quips at enemies. Giving orders to his clone squad.

Or imagine special melee moves. Maybe a clone trooper-style takedown. Using his blaster as a club?

Even just a little extra damage or defense would make him feel more like the hardened veteran he is.

Little things could have made a big difference. And for a character so beloved, he deserved that little extra.

Am I Asking Too Much?

Maybe I'm just being a picky fan. Maybe I have unrealistic expectations. It is a Lego game, after all!

But I can't help but feel a little disappointed. Captain Rex is a Star Wars icon.

He deserves to be more than just another face in the clone army, even a brick-built one!

And frankly, the bar was set pretty high. The game has so many amazing characters with unique abilities.

Rex just feels a little left behind. Like he didn’t get the same level of attention.

In Conclusion: We Still Love Rex, Though!

Despite my gripes, I still use Rex in the game. He's still a clone trooper. And I'll always be on his side.

And maybe, just maybe, a future update or DLC will give him the upgrade he deserves. One can dream, right?

So, what do you think? Am I totally off base? Does Captain Rex get enough love in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga? Or should he be more legendary?

I'm ready for the debate! Let the comments section commence.

Just please, be gentle. Remember, it's just Lego. And we all love Star Wars (probably).

And most importantly... May the Force (and the bricks) be with you.
