His interactions with Aizen, especially before Aizen's big reveal, are comedy gold.

Squad 6: Byakuya, the Nobleman Who (Secretly) Cares

Next up, we have Byakuya Kuchiki, Captain of Squad 6 and head of the Kuchiki Clan. He's the epitome of noble snobbery, obsessed with rules and tradition. But deep, deep, DEEP down (like, buried under layers of silk and powdered wigs), he has a heart. His Zanpakuto, Senbonzakura, turns into thousands of tiny blades that he controls with his mind. Think of him as a walking, talking cherry blossom storm of doom. He is also secretly soft on Rukia. Don’t tell him I told you so!

Squad 7: Sajin, the Loyal Dog-Man

We have Sajin Komamura of Squad 7. Literally a man with the head of a dog, thanks to being from an outcast clan. Seriously, he's a giant, talking dog-man with a heart of gold and unwavering loyalty. Captain Shunsui Kyoraku of Squad 8 is the epitome of cool, calm, and collected. He likes drinking sake, chasing women, and generally avoiding work. But don't let his laid-back attitude fool you. When things get serious, he’s incredibly powerful. His Zanpakuto, Katen Kyokotsu, makes children's games real and deadly. He’s like a walking, talking contradiction wrapped in a flowery kimono. He is also good friends with Ukitake Jushiro.

Squad 11: Kenpachi, the Battle Maniac (We've Had A Few...)

He doesn't even know the name of his Zanpakuto (until later in the series), he just uses it as a giant cleaver. He’s like a walking, talking berserker with an insatiable thirst for battle. He's also surprisingly good at protecting those he cares about, even if he'd never admit it. He is the only Captain that cares about nothing but fighting. And that's okay!

Squad 12: Mayuri, the Mad Scientist (Please Don't Touch Anything)

Mayuri Kurotsuchi, Captain of Squad 12 and head of the Research and Development Department. He's a mad scientist with a penchant for experimentation, even on his own subordinates. His Zanpakuto, Ashisogi Jizo, paralyzes opponents and releases poison. He's like a walking biohazard, and you definitely wouldn't want to be trapped in an elevator with him. He is also quite frightening.

Squad 13: Jushiro, the Sickly Strategist with a Heart of Gold

Finally, we have Jushiro Ukitake, Captain of Squad 13. He's kind, compassionate, and chronically ill. His Zanpakuto, Sogyo no Kotowari, absorbs and redirects energy attacks. He's like the gentle giant of the Gotei 13, always trying to mediate and do what's right, despite his frail health. He really needs a vacation.
