Assassins Creed Valhalla Nudity

Assassins Creed Valhalla Nudity

Okay, let's talk about something a little...cheeky. Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Vikings! Raids! And... well, sometimes, not much else.

I know, I know, it's a historical action game. But hear me out. Am I the only one who thinks there should have been...more?

Nudity? In MY Viking Game?

Think about it. We're talking about Vikings here. People who, let's just say, weren't always shy about things.

They lived a rugged life. Bathing in rivers. Changing in communal tents. Where's the authenticity, Ubisoft?

But It's Rated M!

Exactly! We're already hacking and slashing our way through England. A little bit of bare skin wouldn't hurt anyone, would it?

I'm not talking about anything gratuitous, of course. Just, you know, a little more "realism". A bit of Viking vulnerability, perhaps?

Maybe Eivor getting changed after a long swim? A glimpse of a warrior preparing for battle? It could add to the atmosphere.

The Modding Community Steps In

Thank goodness for modders, am I right? They always seem to fill the gaps that game developers leave behind.

I've seen some mods that...well, let's just say they add a bit more "spice" to the game. Not that I've downloaded them, of course. Definitely not.

But it's a testament to the fact that some people are craving a more, shall we say, complete Viking experience.

It's Not About Titillation, It's About History!

Okay, maybe a little bit about titillation. But mostly, it's about historical accuracy. Or at least, my version of historical accuracy.

I picture Viking life as a lot less prim and proper than what's presented in the game. More raw. More exposed.

Wouldn't seeing a bit of Eivor's tattoos – all of them – feel more authentic to the character and the time?

My Unpopular Opinion: Embrace the Nudity!

So here it is, my unpopular opinion: Assassin's Creed Valhalla should have had more nudity.

Not for shock value. Not for cheap thrills. But for authenticity, immersion, and a more realistic portrayal of Viking life.

Imagine the conversations around the campfire being, well, more relaxed. A little bit of shared vulnerability could strengthen bonds, right?

The Hypocrisy of Violence

We can brutally murder hundreds of Saxons. We can raid monasteries and pillage villages. But a bare breast? Oh, heavens no!

It seems a little hypocritical, doesn't it? We're okay with virtual violence, but not virtual nudity.

Maybe it's a cultural thing. Maybe I'm just a weirdo. But I think it's a missed opportunity.

Let's Talk About Eivor

Speaking of Eivor, the protagonist. What a badass, right? Fierce warrior, cunning strategist.

But also...a human being. With a body. And, presumably, the need to occasionally, you know, bathe.

A little glimpse of Eivor's physique wouldn't detract from their strength. If anything, it would make them more relatable.

Would it Really Be That Bad?

Think about it. A quick scene of Eivor bathing in a frigid river. The steam rising off their skin. A moment of vulnerability before a battle.

Would that really ruin the game? Would that make it less enjoyable? I highly doubt it.

In fact, I think it would add to the overall experience. It would make the world feel more lived-in. More real.

So, Ubisoft, What Do You Say?

I know, I know. It's probably too late. Valhalla has been out for a while now.

But maybe, just maybe, for the next Assassin's Creed game, consider embracing the nudity. Consider embracing the reality of the time period.

Let's have some more authenticity. Let's have some more skin. And let's have some more fun. After all, Vikings knew how to enjoy themselves!

Or at least the modding community seems to think so...
