Assassin's Creed Liberation Trophies

Assassin's Creed Liberation Trophies

Alright, let's talk trophies. Specifically, Assassin's Creed Liberation trophies. Prepare yourselves; some of you might disagree with what I'm about to say.

Here's my hot take: some of these trophies are just...mean. Seriously, did the developers laugh maniacally while designing them?

The Grind is Real (and a Little Ridiculous)

Okay, first off, let’s address the elephant in the room: the "Complete all Challenges" trophy. Sounds simple enough, right? Wrong!

You're running around New Orleans, doing crazy stuff. Then you realise you must pickpocket a specific amount of money.

Prepare to spend hours doing the same things. And I mean hours. Just to tick a box on a list nobody but you (and maybe your trophy-obsessed friends) cares about.

The 50 Chain Kills...Seriously?

Then there's the one about getting a 50-chain kill. Look, I’m no stranger to dispatching digital dudes. But a 50-CHAIN KILL?

That's not skillful assassination; that's pure luck and exploiting a broken AI. It's like hoping a flock of pigeons will spontaneously arrange themselves into a perfect heart shape.

The Persona Problem

And let's not forget the whole persona switching mechanic. It's kinda cool, I'll admit.

But some trophies are tied to using specific personas for specific missions. This just feels artificial.

I want to play as Aveline! Not Aveline pretending to be someone else pretending to be someone else’s idea of what an assassin should be!

The Lady, The Slave, The Assassin

It's like they wanted to show off this feature, but at the expense of actual fun. Like, "Look how versatile we are! Now spend 20 minutes switching outfits for this pointless task."

Don't get me wrong, changing outfit is very stylish. But forced to change it for a trophy? Seriously?

It seems very frustrating when the persona you like the most is not suitable for the trophy you want to gain.

Unpopular Opinion: Some Trophies Should Just...Not Exist

Here's where I might lose some of you. I genuinely believe some trophies are actively detrimental to the gaming experience. The fun should always come first, right?

Instead of enjoying the story, you're obsessing over some arbitrary challenge. The magic of Assassin's Creed starts to fade.

Instead of seeing the bayou, you are too busy worrying about killing 500 guards.

Enjoy the Game, Not the Checklist

I'm not saying all trophies are bad. Some provide a fun extra challenge. Some encourage you to explore the game in new ways.

But when a trophy turns into a chore, it’s crossed the line. It's time to re-evaluate your life choices. And maybe uninstall the game (just kidding… mostly).

So, yeah, Assassin's Creed Liberation trophies: a mixed bag. Some are fine, some are frustrating, and some make me question the very fabric of reality. But hey, at least you get a shiny digital badge for your troubles. And maybe a touch of madness.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a 50-chain kill to attempt. Wish me luck.

I will get this platinum.

Or maybe not. I might just go play something else. Don't tell my trophy list.
